This was our second year having a booth at the Perenjori Agricultural Fair. We had our Mayfield Lab products displayed along with some papers of research from the lab that was conducted in the region and the pantograph for a bit of fun.
This year we were put in the same location as many of the natural resources groups in the region. I was elated to get the chance to meet Richard McLellan (CEO of NACC) whom I had been following on Twitter. We also met Lis McLellan (Western Rangelands Healthy Landscape Manager) and Will Hansen (Charles Darwin Reserve Manager) who work for Bush Heritage conservation group. We also got a chance to meet with Paul Robb (Department of Biodiversity, Conservation, and Attractions) who is park manager in the new Karara Rangeland Park just east of Perenjori. We did not end up having the chance to visit Karara but it is on my list for the future!
But of course it was not all work... Maia, James, and I also entered some photos in the photo competition of the fair. Maia got an awesome first prize in the wildflower category - YAY Maia!
The night ended with a band and dancing! Overall, despite it being a bit soggy, everyone had a great time!
